valveConductance

Conductance m_flow/dp of a valve with a fixed resistance in series, its flow law linearized as Buildings does (linearized=true): m_flowm_flow_nominal = k^2dp, 1/k^2 = 1/kFixed^2 + 1/(phiKv)^2*

FastSmoothBuildings.Utilities.valveConductance, function (source)

Purpose

Conductance G = ṁ/Δp of a valve and a fixed resistance in series, the flow law linearized as Buildings does with linearized = true.

Equations

G = 1 / (ṁnom (Δpfix,nom/ṁnom2 + Δpval,nom/(φ ṁnom)2)),

that is ṁ ṁnom = k2 Δp with 1/k2 = 1/kfix2 + 1/(φ Kv)2, kfix2 = ṁnom2/Δpfix,nom, Kv2 = ṁnom2/Δpval,nom. Fully open (φ = 1), the valve passes ṁnom under Δpval,nom + Δpfix,nom.

Use

φ must stay positive: the valves give the characteristic of equalPercentage, at least its leakage.
